University Cultural Groups Hold Joint Concert

A concert was staged featuring Foundation University’s cultural groups last November 8 and 9 at the Sofia Soller Sinco Hall.

Entitled “Gidlaw,” which means “to shine” in Visayan dialect, the concert showcased the three cultural groups namely: the Abuhuni Choir under the tutelage of Mr. Alan Bana; the Abuhuni Band under the baton of Mr. Alan Valencia and the Buglasayaw Dance Troupe choreographed by Mr. Vic Jun Nocete.

The dance and music repertoire comprised of original Filipino music, to foreign modern and pop genres.

Proceeds of the said concert were aimed at supporting the Cultural Group Scholarship fund and also to the many projects of the university.

The show was also graced with the special participation of the student assistants who performed a skit.

GIDLAW was held in consonance with the school’s theme this year, “Time to Shine” and to reawaken the cultural pursuits of the University, being a prime mover of culture and arts in the community.
