To mark the celebration of the World Teachers Day, Foundation University through its Office of Student Life in partnership with the FU Student Government held a short program last October 7 at the Sofia Soller Sinco Hall.
Centered on expressing their gratitude to their mentors, the students from various colleges and departments in the University rendered presentations during the event to also show appreciation for the sacrifices and efforts shared by the teachers in their chosen field of work.
In his homily during the Mass that preceded the program, University Chaplain Msgr. Julius Heruela stressed on the important role of mentors not only in school but also in the greater community and later on, he pronounced a special prayer and blessing with the students’ hands outstretched towards the teachers.
The World Teachers’ Day Celebration is aimed at giving importance to the contribution of mentors to nation-building through their commitment in molding the youth – the future of the country.
