As part of the monthlong celebration of Negros Oriental’s prime fiesta – Buglasan Festival, Foundation University Department of Fine Arts opened an exhibit last October 14 at Robinson’s Place Dumaguete.
Dubbed as “Project Uno: Buglasan Galleria Obra de Artes de Oriental Negrense,” the annual exhibition features all the creative output of fine arts students for the first semester of the academic year.
Project Uno serves as an avenue for application of students’ understanding of the essentials of exhibition, curatorship, and artist-gallery relationship.
Through the exhibit, students of the Fine Arts Program will be able to grasp the relevance of the basic structure of the art market and their relationship to the bigger community.
Project Uno is one of the many contributions of Foundation University to the celebration of the Buglasan Festival in relation to the thrust of the Department of Architecture and Fine Arts to preserve, conserve, and promote the nation’s artistry, heritage, and culture.
FU President Victor Vicente “Dean” G. Sinco, Provincial Administrator Dr. Henry A. Sojor, Provincial Tourism Officer Myla Mae Bromo-Abellana led the ribbon cutting ceremony along with Arts and Sciences Dean Peter Macabinguil.
