Through a formal groundbreaking ceremony, the Estudio Damgo VIII project was officially launched last September 29 at Pancil, Sibulan, Negros Oriental.
Now on its 8th installment, the Estudio Damgo – the first and only student-led design, build and fund program in the whole Philippines is set to answer another community problem on stray animals in the city.
ED VIII Team is composed of namely: Siena Rica Mae Abueva, Reasyl Lyka Ada, Jeonal Balucan, Francis Augustin Calucin, Reina Rhea Lee Chua, John Michael Magayano, Orven John Quirit, Agape Rubio, Keah Vyn Subito and Jea Tang.
The said project is aimed at building the Veterinary Quarter for the volunteers of Combined Animal Rescue Endeavor (CARE) – an organization responsible for providing shelter for stray cats and dogs within Metro Dumaguete.
For years, CARE has been serving the community especially the stray animals as a small non-profit organization based in Dumaguete. Their services involve rescue, rehabiliation and rehoming of injured, neglected and abused cats and dogs found on the streets.
Present during the groundbreaking ceremonies were FU President Victor Vicente “Dean” G. Sinco, Office of Student Life Dean Joaquin Repollo, FU Consultant and Advancement Officer Girlie S. Bernardez and CARE representatives: Christian Faith Lozada-Crieta (CARE founder) and Aidalyn C. Arabe.
